DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT CENTRE
Fisher has one of the strongest Design & Development centre in the industry which is recognized by the Government of India - Dept. of Science & Industrial Research.
Fisher has rolled out many successful models of pumps incorporating stainless steel impellers, diffusers, body, discharge adopter, suction adopter etc. The use of "IDEAS" software for 3D solid modeling and analysis for 7 years has yielded strength and speed and perfection in design.
Apart from pumps the development centre have designed and developed a 2 stroke Petrol engine to power products. The power products are promoted in the 'RUGBY' brand. Presently the "RUGBY" production program includes a 500W Generator and 3 models of pumps coupled to the engine. The engine is also being supplied to a Mini Scooters manufacturer.
Presently the centre has developed a Dishwasher comprising of critical Stainless Steel sheet metal parts, large plastic parts and their tools have also been designed and developed in the company's in house tool room. The Dish washer is controlled by sophisticated electronic circuits for automatic selection of programs and control.
In brief the competence of Fisher are in the areas of complete Product design validation, Stainless steel sheet metal parts, plastic injection molded parts, Aluminium die casting parts, Motor design, Pump design and Electronic controls.
FISHER MANUFACTURING SYSTEM
Fisher has been ISO9001 certified for nearly a decade now.
At Fisher Pumps the traditional line assembly has been scraped 3 years before and the Japanese flexible Cell Production system is being followed. The factory comprises of 6 Cells, each cell producing a particular family of products. The material flow in to the company is based on PPC (Part Pull Card) which is similar to the Kanban. The in process material stock in the factory is limited to 2 to 2½ days. The single piece work flow method is practiced instead of multi worker line method. This means a single operator assembles the complete pump or the work is shared between a couple of operators instead of many workers included in assembling each pump.
SYSTEM FOR VARIANCE CONTROL
Though the quality of performance is achieved at design and planning stage at Fisher Pumps Quality of conformance is of prime importance and specific methods are practiced to ensure least variance between product to product.
Poke Yoke (mistake proofing) methods employed in each cell to eliminate operator errors. Every pump is subjected to critical test parameters in the automatic testing to ensure absolute conformance to designed parameters with least variation. Control charts, 6 sigma charts trend charts are extensively employed to achieve minimum variation.
Fisher uses some of the best winding machines and CNC machines in the industry to produce pumps of consistent Quality. Consistency in Quality is of prime importance in every Fisher Pump.
